Matt recently retired from UPS where he was employed for 34 years. During his tenure with UPS he ran several departments and functions, his last was overseeing the Marketing Customer Experience department for the UPS Great Lakes District. 

While he worked at UPS he also oversaw the Michigan District Congressional Awareness Program and was Chair of the  Michigan UPS Veterans Business Resource Group. 

He has served on multiple boards and committees including the Hudsonville-Jenison Community  Foundation Board, Davenport University Academic Advisory Committee, and the Hudsonville-Jenison Youth Advisory Committee where he mentored High School students on Volunteerism and Philanthropy.  

He joined the Michigan Army National Guard in 1984 and served until 1998 when he was honorably discharged. 

He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Davenport University and an MBA in Strategic Management also from Davenport University, and his Doctorate in Management of Applied Science in Technology at Walden University. 

He is passionate about Veteran causes always looking for opportunities to serve his fellow Veterans or their families. He has two adult children and enjoys spending quality time with them when their respective schedules allow them to do so.
